Was sind eigentlich Paipos?
Paipos sind die polynesischen Vorfahren der Bellyboards. Sie sind dicker als Bellyboards und ähneln von ihrer Form und Fahreigenschaften mehr Bodyboards. Die Bretter bestehen jedoch aus europäischen Paulownia-Holz (von Germantrees GmbH und Paulownia Natural Growers C.B.) und nicht aus umweltschädlichen Kunststoffen, die bei Bodyboards verwendet werden.
Das Shape wird mit Hobel, Feile und Schleifpapier von Sepp in Form gebracht. Unsere Paipos gleiten super schnell an und werden Euch mühelos mit der Welle Richtung Strand schießen lassen.
Um die Möglichkeiten für Euer Brettchen darzustellen und den Preis zu ermitteln haben wir ein Baukastensystem erstellt, mit dem ihr z.B. das Grundshape, mögliche Channels, Design usw. auswählen könnt. Bevor wir loslegen, besprechen wir alles mit Euch noch im Detail.

Das Shape:
Unser smoother Schweinswal Tammi Tümmler hat eine breite Nose und deutlich mehr Volumen als Max Matje. So ist Tammi vielleicht etwas plumper aber dafür der ultimative Wavecatcher und er geht schon mit den kleinsten Wellen mit. Gerade für grüne Wellen im tiefen Wasser sollte es das Board eurer Wahl sein!
Wir können mit euch zusammen anhand eurer Größe und Gewicht sowie den bevorzugten Wellenrevieren die Abmessungen wählen.
Specs Schweinswal : 70-115 cm lang und 32-48 cm breit. Dicke 2 cm.
Tail:
Ihr habt die Auswahlmöglichkeit zwischen Square- und Fish-Tail. Das Fish-Tail gibt dem Board mehr Wendigkeit, während das Square-Tail mehr Geschwindigkeit generiert. Die Tails unterscheiden sich preislich, da das Fish-Tail aufwändiger ist. Wählt + Fish, wenn Ihr ein Fish-Tail möchtet.
Leash Plug (letztes Bild):
Wenn ihr wollt, wird ein Leash Plug beim Paipo integriert. Im tiefen Wasser ist eine Leash aus Sicherheitsgründen immer ratsam und im flachen Wasser erspart sie Euch einige Meter beim Hinterherhechten nach dem Richtung Strand brausenden Paipo. Den Plug müsst ihr separat bestellen. Ihr findet das Bestellfenster in der Kategorie "dies & das".
Channels (+Channel):
Channels geben dem Board weitere Eigenschaften. Side-Channels sorgen für Kontrolle und Halt in den Wellen, sodass es manövrierfähiger wird. Ein Single-Channel sorgt hingegen vor allem für Speed und Auftrieb.
Channels sind etwas für die ambitionierten Surfenden. Will man einfach nur mit der Welle auf direktem Weg Richtung Strand schießen, sind Channels nicht nötig. Du bist Dir nicht sicher, ob mit oder ohne Channels und welche Channels? Meldet Euch einfach bei Sepp.
Design:
Zuletzt kommt noch die Optik. Ihr könnt das Brettchen zum selber bemalen nehmen (wählt Natur) oder wir ölen es 3mal mit Leinöl ein (wählt geölt).
Wir bemalen es aber auch sehr gerne für Euch mit unseren Motiven nach euren Vorstellungen (wählt unser Motiv) und ölen es noch abschließend ein (Motive: siehe Bilder unserer Homepage und auf Instagram @balticbellyboards).
Ihr wollt, dass wir euer Design nehmen oder erstellen eines nur für Euch, dann wählt "Dein Design". Auch hier ölen wir das Board abschließend ein.
Die Farben sind übrigens alle mit dem „blauen Engel“ versehen.
Hinweis:
Ein Paipo ist keine Schwimmhilfe. Geht nur soweit raus, wie es eure Schwimmfähigkeiten erlauben. Kinder sollten beim Bellyboarden immer beaufsichtigt werden. Benutzung auf eigene Gefahr.

What exactly are paipos?
Paipos are the Polynesian ancestors of bellyboards. They are thicker than bellyboards and more like bodyboards in terms of their shape and riding characteristics. However, the boards are made of European Paulownia wood (from Germantrees GmbH and Paulownia Natural Growers C.B.) and not of environmentally harmful plastics, which are used for bodyboards.
Sepp will shape the bodyboard with a plane, file and sandpaper. Our Paipos get super fast planing and will effortlessly shoot you towards the beach with the wave.
To show you the possibilities for your board and to determine the price, we have created a modular system that allows you to select the basic shape, possible channels, design, etc. Before we get started, we will discuss everything with you in detail.

The shape:
Our smooth porpoise Tammi Tümmler has a wide nose and significantly more volume than Max Matje. So is Tammi maybe a bit clumsy but it's the ultimate wavecatcher and it rides even the smallest waves. It should be the board of your choice especially for green waves in deep water!
We can choose the dimensions together with you based on your height and weight as well as your preferred surf spots.

Tail:
You can choose between a square and a fish tail. The fish tail makes the board more maneuverable, while the square tail generates more speed. The tails differ in price because the fish tail is more elaborate. Select + Fish if you want a fish tail.
Leash Plug (last picture)
If you want, a leash plug can be integrated into the Paipo. In deep water, a leash is always advisable for safety reasons, and in shallow water it saves you a few meters when you have to chase after the Paipo as it rushes towards the beach. You have to order the plug separately. You will find the order window in the “dies & das” category.
Channels (+Channel):
Channels give the board further properties. Side channels provide control and hold in the waves, making it more maneuverable. A single channel, on the other hand, primarily provides speed and lift.
Channels are for the ambitious surfers. If you just want to shoot with the wave in a direct line towards the beach, channels are not necessary. Not sure whether to use channels or not, and if so, which ones? Just contact Sepp.
Design:
Finally, the look. You can take the board
Finally comes the look. You can paint the board yourself (choose Natur) or we can oil it with linseed oil (choose Geölt).
We are also happy to paint it for you with our motifs according to your ideas (choose Unser Motiv) and then oil it (motifs: see pictures on our homepage and on Instagram @balticbellyboards).
You want us to use your design or create one just for you, then choose “Dein Design”. We will also oil the board at the end. The colors are all marked with the “blue angel”.
Note:
A Paipo is not a buoyancy aid. Only go out as far as your swimming abilities allow. Children should always be supervised when bellyboarding. Use at your own risk.

Wenn Ihr euer Board lieber abholen wollt:
"Click & Collect" kann man erst auswählen, wenn man "zur Kasse geht" und bei der Länderauswahl "Deutschland" wählt. Danach ist ein Fenster sichtbar, in dem man zwischen "Versand" und "Click & Collect" wählen kann. Klickt man nun auf "Click & Collect" und danach auf "weiter", verschwinden die Versandkosten.
